Mixolo solos are at it again. Winter is coming. To that, we say, “So. What?” You don’t need a plus-one. Get out and do stuff with Mixolo. They’re letting us in the kitchen now; supervised, of course, so we can see what it’s like to cook up our own signature sweet and savory crepes with local favorite Sofi’s Crepes on their cool industrial-size griddles. Sofi’s will provide the ingredients and fillings for our MYOC (make your own crepes) adventure, but you’ll have to bring your own grapes – if that’s your thing. BYOB (bring your own beverage). Your choice. On this Sunday evening, join Mixolo as we kick off our after-hours series of events at small, local restaurants that have made big contributions to Baltimore’s burgeoning food economy. Sofi’s is our first “docile” takeover. We’ll gather at the Belvedere Square franchise locations of Sofi’s Crepes after the store closes to its regular customers and hang out in the cool space with its warm, mid-century (20th) diner vibe. Sofi’s Crepes has a Baltimore story that elevates their business model to iconic, or “lo-conic,” status. Founder of the Sofi’s brand, Ann Costlow, often tells how she left an unfulfilling career in finance for love. She loved cooking, and after spending some time in France, she fell in love with crepes. She named Sofi’s after her beloved dog who suffered a spinal injury that paralyzed his hind legs, but not his spirit. With franchise locations in Baltimore, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel, Sofi’s is becoming a Maryland favorite. In addition to the traditional sweet fillings, we’ll offer vegetarian and vegan filling options, though the crepes themselves are not vegan. Sofi’s sources quality ingredients for its food items. If this is your first visit, you’re in for a rare treat. FAQ: What’s included in my ticket price? You’ll gain admission to MIxolo’s after-hours MYOC event at Sofi’s Crepes Belvedere Location. You can choose up to two crepes – one sweet and one savory. A non-alcoholic drink will be included. Sofi’s does not have a liquor license but is permitted to allow you to bring your own beverage (BYOB). There is no requirement for sharing what you bring. If you prefer special glassware, you may consider bringing them but Mixolo nor Sofi’s Crepes can guarantee or be held accountable for against accidental breakage or damage. Disposable cups will be available. Is this event restricted to Mixolo early adopter members and interested event hosts? In order to attend this Mixolo-sponsored event, we ask that you register with Mixolo in mind as a social network that you will consider joining. We are a network of solo adults pursuing the things we love to do and sharing enriching experiences with other like-minded adults. Tickets for this Mixolo experience are only available here and on mixolo.io. How do I become a member and attend this event with Mixolo? Membership is free. Mixolo will soon debut a multi-platform app. We do not yet have a formal login and profile option on our current pre-app Web/Mobile site. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Sofi’s Crepes Belvedere is located on the back corner of Belvedere Square Market, on York Road, across from the Senator Theater. There is ample free parking near the restaurant entrance and in the attached garage. Street parking is available, but very limited. You may want to consider the ride-sharing services (Uber or Lyft) for a worry-free night. How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
