Learn about African American women who were instrumental in shaping the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950s and 1960s. Discuss the contributions of activists such as Ruby Dee, Angela Davis, Daisy Bates, and Ruby Bridges. Enjoy listening to lesser known stories and gain a greater appreciation for these individuals who at times receive little recognition in popular historical narratives but played a pivotal role in the struggle for civil rights.
