Maybe you’ve read it, seen, performed in it or dreamed it, but this production of A Christmas Carol is one to see. Baltimore’s Chesapeake Shakespeare Company (CSC) is bringing back this crowd-pleaser for another holiday season. Whether you observe Christmas or not, this universal tale of redemption is one that connects us. With Mixolo, you don’t need a plus-one. All of our events are solo-friendly. Come solo and find your plus-some. Ian Gallanar’s original adaptation of this classic is a celebration of Chesapeake culture and history, in story and song, with references to Baltimore’s neighborhoods, industries, and traditions. Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge lives in Victorian-era Baltimore and works in the old financial district downtown. Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come “fly” over the rowhouses of the city to help Scrooge with his existential transformation. Enjoy some pre-performance cheer and meet your new Mixolo connections with CSC’s themed Bob Cratchit’s Wassail happy hour. Enjoy your cider spiked or straight. We’ll also provide some hearty snacks to help you settle in for the evening’s performance. FAQ: What’s included in my ticket price? We’ll gather early at 6:30PM to connect and engage in a semi-private space for our Mixolo group and enjoy some pre-performance snacks before we enjoy the 7:30PM production. Is this event restricted to Mixolo early adopter members and interested event hosts? In order to attend this Mixolo-sponsored event, we ask that you register with Mixolo in mind as a social network that you will consider joining. We are a network of solo adults pursuing the things we love to do and sharing enriching experiences with other like-minded adults. Tickets to this performance are open to the public on Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s website. Tickets for this Mixolo experience at the theater are only available here. How do I become a member and attend this event with Mixolo? Membership is free. Mixolo will soon debut a multi-platform app. We do not yet have a formal login and profile option on our current pre-app Web/Mobile site. When you register for this event, we will ask for basic identifying information that will automatically qualify you as an early adopter member and subscriber. I Please be prepared to present your state ID or driver’s license upon request as alcoholic beverages will be offered. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Guests will be able to park in a covered lot at Arrow Parking on Water Street. Arrow offers $5 parking when you provide them with a CSC coupon (available inside the theater) upon exiting the garage. The well-lighted garage is located one block south of the theater, with entrances on both Lombard and Water Streets between Calvert and South Streets. Cancellations may be made for a full refund up to 7 days before the event. Is there a dress code? No formal dress code, however, we ask that you consider business casual for this event.
