Shades of Baubles & Bubbles

Thinking of adding some new hues to your fall makeup palette?

Ella Pritsker models Melissa Woody Walker and Kim Woody Groves recently tossed the couture for office wear to have me redo their corporate headshots for the family company KCW Engineering. Notice how they chose jewel tones to pop on the green background, which I balanced by using rosy tones on their skin.

Makeup’s no good without the right hair and stylist. Gregory Dean made sure Kimberly and Melissa’s locks were perfectly smooth with Aveda and Arbonne hair products before I got down to the neutral makeup. However, I snuck in a little navy liner and pinkier lipstick to keep up with the deep red dress she was wearing. Too much “nude” would pale in comparison to the strong color she was wearing.

It was all uptown/downtown last weekend at the Royal Sonesta as the Pikesville girls of A Style Studio hired me to make them up for a large bat mitzvah, where I bumped into more than one former client. We used the shop’s new “Pink Champagne” colored longwear cream shadows to define their eyes before the real champagne started flowing. Their glowing skin with baked highlighters complimented the pink champagne.

Heavily-booked model Marcia Davis met with my Baltimore Snap fellow style columnist Elena Russo and me last week at Kenilworth to get her makeup done by yours truly for the holiday shoot of Towson Lifestyle Mag’s launch. We had a great time glamming it up with Kevyn Aucoin’s Femme Fatale red, half strip lashes, Ruth Shaw wardrobe, and hair by About Faces.

It’s definitely fall fashion season and I’m overbooked. My life-saving intern for Baltimore Style’s Show at the Lyric, Autumn, is shown here modeling the same look Marcia sported, showing that these pre-holiday trends work on anyone day or evening.
