What To Wear: St. Paddy’s Day

St. Paddy’s Day falls on a Saturday this year. What that means for you festive folks is that you have two opportunities to wear green: daytime AND nighttime.

If you’re starting your day early, I highly recommend this camouflage tote bag from Boutique W in Green Spring Station (2360 Joppa Road, 21093). It has the perfect amount of green and isn’t so expensive that you’ll freak out when someone spills their green beer on you. Also, you can use it as a pool/beach bag come spring break. Normally, I gloss over emails from Bluefly.com. That said, when I saw one for a Gucci promotion, I couldn’t help but open it. To my dismay (and lucky for you) I found these sunnies (with a green stripe) on sale for $169.99. I bought a VERY similar pair in Europe last summer that cost considerably more than that…even with the favorable exchange rate! (Photo courtesy bluefly.com)

Before forcing myself off of Bluefly, I came across these green Gucci boots. I get it, they aren’t for everyone. That said, I think they are AMAZING. And, you can’t get any more green than these boots. (Gucci Flower Boots $892.99, Photo courtesy bluefly.com)

If you’re looking for something to wear from day to evening, this Twill Band Jacket by Free People in Harbor East (1001 Aliceanna Street, 21202) is perfect. I love the gold details. And, you’ll look festive without looking like a leprechaun. (Jacket $168, Photo courtesy freepeople.com)

For those of you who want nothing to do with dressing up for St. Paddy’s Day, but have Saturday night plans (AKA me), I suggest wearing a hint of green with whatever you would normally wear on a Saturday night. Personally, I think this cuff by Hermes has the perfect amount of green. If you don’t feel like making the trek to DC to get it in store, you can order it online at hermes.com. No matter what you’re doing or how much to spend, these picks should have you covered. And if none of these floats your boat, you can always head to Michael’s and get some green ribbon for makeshift shoelaces. xx
