What To Wear: Artscape 2017

What To Wear: Artscape 2017

Outdoor festivals are a blast. However, they aren’t always the easiest to dress for (especially in the heat and humidity). Artscape is no exception to either. It’s the country’s BIGGEST free arts festival…and it often lands smack-dab in the middle of some of B-more’s stickiest summer days. As much fun as an outdoor arts festival is, picking an outfit to wear in the sweltering heat is a huge pain. I mean, what in the world do you wear that still looks cute and doesn’t make you look like you just stepped out of a sweat lodge?

So, ladies, here are my picks to keep you cute and comfortable during Artscape 2017. What’s more, you’ll find everything in Baltimore shops or on their websites, so you don’t even have to get off your couch to shop local!

Start with an easy, breathable sundress or romper. I’m coveting this one from from Canton’s Lovoda – Would you believe it’s only $15?! {Lovoda, 2713 Boston St., Canton} (Photo courtesy www.lovoda.com)

As much as I love a good pair of heels, when it comes to outdoor festivals, flats are a must. This pair of Dolce Vita sandals from South Moon Under are chic and comfortable…and on sale for $54.99. {South Moon Under, 815 Aliceanna St., Harbor East & Kenilworth Plaza, Towson} (Photo courtesy www.southmoonunder.com)

From there, add a hat for a little style (and sun protection). This one ($55) from J.Crew is sure to last season after season. Not to mention it’s packable! Hint: If nothing else, it can serve double duty. You can also use it as a fan, what with the nice wide brim and all… {J. Crew, 120 International Drive, Harbor East} (Photo courtesy www.jcrew.com)

Finish the look off with a pair of sunglasses. You can’t go wrong with aviators. My favorite – season after season – are Ray-Bans. These are the Double Bridge Round Aviators which you can also pick up at South Moon Under (originally $160, but $128 in a special promotion online!) . (Photo courtesy www.southmoonunder.com)

And – Voila! You’re officially Artscape ready! Stay fun. Stay chic. And show off your own creative style! xx
