New looks, lashes, and a lipstick color for everyone!
Spent some time with Mets Feeley recently, and I marveled at how she always has her signature red lip on and it seems to go with everything. Seems it’s by Nars; ” Cruella,” a satin finish matte crayon that doubles as a liner.
The brand says this is a red for any complexion. (I also got the scoop from Mets Feeley that our beloved Nordstrom in Towson is remodeling to better showcase new brands – like Nars, Tom Ford Beauty and Sisley – that were once difficult to find in Baltimore.)
Mets and I headed to The Village of Cross Keys where we came upon another renovation at another iconic Baltimore fashion store. Boutique Octavia is opening up the sales floor and making room for lots of bright colorful jewelry and accessories that pair well with that red lip.
Next on our travels, the high-end designer boutique Ruth Shaw. Leave it to Mets to spot another splash of color. This bag from the “Save My Bag Line” is called the ” Miss Bag.” It’s a stylish way to cover your actual handbag in Baltimore’s varying inclement weather. Mets went for the one in shocking pink.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my cosmetics career, it’s that any woman not looking for the perfect red lip is usually in pursuit of the perfect nude. I found realtor Mary Zimmerman in Sephora, looking for the perfect pinky nude. Nars to the rescue again!
Mary found two choices in that line: “Cat Fight” and “Sex Machine” – colors I think are flattering for all ages of nude lip fans.
I couldn’t leave without commenting on Mary’s fashionable camel colored ankle boots – an old staple of hers from Coach.
In keeping with the theme of renovations and newness, I stopped into newly overhauled Shops at Kenilworth and bumped into Jessica Andrea Potee. I immediately noticed there was something different about her. She explained she had just left About Faces Day Spa and Salon after modeling their new Xtreme Lash Service and Fibre Lash Mascara.
The popular lash extension service is semi-permanent, lasting up to a month with options for touch-ups midway. For those maintaining this look or not ready to take the plunge she explained she had been using the Fibre Lash mascara to give herself mini extensions daily that come off easily in warm water.
