It’s All About the Accent

Cameron Stang prefers to wear what she thinks is comfortable and functional such as her Gap jeans, Forever 21 jacket, and BDG booties from Urban Outfitters. Her style is streamlined and structured, but set apart through small, individual elements: a fur coat, pins, rings, and a lip color, things to make her outfit more interesting. Cameron likes mixing textures and patterns and quirky things such as the treasures she finds from her grandmother’s closet or a local thrift shop. “I’ve experimented with clothes a lot, but I’ve learned what works for me, and what makes me feel like the best version of myself; even if it’s black jeans and a striped top, I find a way to wear it differently than anyone else.”

Cameron’s pins of choice to feature on her jacket are a Red Thorn pin to support her friend’s tattoo shop in Baltimore, Loud Boyz pin; a friends band, and a Be Nice or Leave pin that she purchased while in New Orleans for a friend’s wedding. The necklace is a mix of finds that tell a story. Her mother bought the pocket watch from a flea market in New York, which Cameron put on the chain to make up the necklace along with miscellaneous charms (a wishbone and a key) that she found in her grandmother’s jewelry collection.

Stephen Zerance is no stranger in front of the camera. I have seen Stephen strut his stuff across many runways in Baltimore and his eastern European style definitely stands out on the streets of Mt. Vernon. “Who’s that German you’re hanging out with?” is the type of question Stephen wants people to ask his friends. When shopping, he looks for comfortable clothes like his Puma X Trapstar jacket and Adidas Originals pants, and always a good sneaker. For Stephen, the shoe game has to be on a certain level.

One of his favorite pairs is his Adidas Originals, a fun flashback to the 90’s hip-hop fashion days. Another cool accessory – a pair of Ray-Ban aviators. It all adds up to a look Stephen is into – anything busy or loud – something he can pull off that few can.

FOUND – As I was walking into Target to pick up some necessities, I found a little goldmine of goodies that caught my eye. Each item was $35 or less, which made it a stress-free visit. I picked up a few pairs of cut-off corduroy shorts along with several vintage inspired band tees, such as The Doors and Guns N’ Roses.

Add a pair of bohemian-inspired gladiator sandals or platform sandals to dress it up a bit. I think this is a great outfit to wear to a pool party in SOBE such as SLS or the Mondrian or the Tiki Barge right here in town. Best thing of all? Outfits like these can be found online from retailers that charge 4 times as much!
