Summer Brights

We’re still enjoying the summer trend of using a little bold color especially with Smashbox cosmetics’ new collection at About Faces Timonium.

There, veteran esthetician and model Jeannie Hoffman shows those colors are very wearable – with a little restraint – at any age.

What about when our bright faces don’t necessarily match the bodies we’ve ignored all winter? The About Faces Timonium spa is offering a new treatment for spa and home use by Phytomer that tones, firms, and smooths any area before you hit that pool party. The pro strength treatment is now available by appointment and done without water (to make it easier to squeeze in at lunch).

If this just isn’t “cutting it” for diehards, the facility’s hi-tech Med Spa downstairs now offers Cool Sculpt lipo with less downtime than the traditional procedure.

The artistry team down at SkyLofts Gallery & Studios in Highlandtown definitely has a handle on the summer bright color trend. I attended their open house networking mixer and found photographer Herbert Mann of TLP Photo shooting a fully brightly body painted model with gorgeous Cleopatra style eyes to match. The most striking thing is I didn’t even notice her “outfit” wasn’t clothing until a few minutes in (needless to say, we’re having to skip that photo here!).

I must confess I didn’t go the bright summer route at Spark Freelancers Network Happy Hour – held at Lord Baltimore’s LB Skybar…

But, I found presenters Tiffany James(L) and Melony Hill(R) showcasing the penultimate summer color – turquoise – in their Banana Republic sundresses and comfy-cool Toms shoes. They balanced their bright jewelry and wardrobe with clean skin and some sheer juicy lip gloss.

The juicy gloss didn’t stand a chance against the best “bright” of the evening – the great healthy snacks served with tasty watermelon beer on the patio.
